My father started vomiting up blood, and his blood pressure fell off a cliff and he was unresponsive. I've never seen so many medical people charge into a room before, and they somehow pulled him back from the brink. I honestly thought I was watching him go at that moment. They discovered a bleed in his stomach through an upper GI, and they were able to cauterize it to stop the bleeding. He received a massive blood transfusion as well. His condition is stable, but he's a long way from being out of the woods. I was in the ICU until 4 AM with him last night, and I've spent most of the day there today. Doctors are optimistic, but at his age, there aren't any guarantees. I appreciate everyone's patience with things during a very trying time, and for everyone's thoughts and prayers for us. Popular Post ChiSoxFan Posted December 18, 2023 Author Popular Post Share Posted December 18, 2023 Just a heads-up to everyone -- first off, thank you to everyone who's offered hopeful wishes to myself and my father. He's still in serious condition, but he was moved out of the ICU last night and into a regular room, so there's been improvement, and we're all hopeful. I just sent out invoices to everyone just now -- if you didn't get one for some reason, please send me a PM. I'll be back and forth from the hospital all week, but I should be able to get everyone's books out on a normal schedule, so I don't anticipate any delays unless something unexpected happens.
