I probably will regret offering this book for sale and almost certainly will never be able to find an unpressed copy as attractive as this one if it sells but here it is anyway. Please read the description and terms before buying the book.

Here are terms:

People on the probation list, or that I may have on ignore, are not eligible to purchase. 

Return policy: All my raw books are unrestored and not pressed unless noted. All my raw books are accurately graded and your satisfaction is guaranteed or your money back (except shipping costs) as long as book is returned in same condition as sent within 7 days of receipt. However, due to the high value of this book, I would prefer not to handle the hassle of a return so please ask questions before buying the book.

Restoration: although I am pretty sure that this book is totally unrestored, I will accept a return if you find restoration up to 7 days after delivery, or up to 6 months on CGC graded issues. In either case, I will pay for return shipping cost in such situation. I will however not pay nor refund your grading costs. 

I will not give a refund or partial refund nor will I ask you for more money if the book comes back a different grade from CGC.

The first in this thread or via PM wins the books based on time stamp.

Time payments are possible but must be discussed before you make the purchase.

Shipping cost with $1,000 insurance, signature required and tracking number to the USA with strong packaging via Canada Post Xpresspost USA is estimated around $90.00 depending of your zip code. Full insurance is possible only with FedEx and options are prohibitive (between $500 and $1,200 depending of where you live). Local pickup is possible and could be the best option.

Startling Comics #49 VG-/VG: $11,000

Classic robot cover by Alex (Xela) Schomburg

Beautiful low grade copy that presents extremely well for its technical grade with strong eye-appeal and gorgeous colors. Book is complete, I count 48 pages inside (which means a total of 52 pages when including both sides of both covers), there is no restoration and book has never been pressed. Cover still attached to the book as well as the centerfold. Both staples show a bit of rust on cover, especially the lower one but almost no rust on inside in the centerfold. Book has wear consistent with the grade, most of the defects are clearly visible on scans and pictures. There is one major stain in the water under the girl's feet. There is a small crease on lower right corner of front cover and another one on upper left corner of back cover that are folded in the inside and look fragile, trying to unfold them could result in a break so I did not try. Inside pages are at least off-white if not better.

Most recent GPA sales for that book in that grade range were $7,800 for an ugly Good 2.0 with cover detached and $8,000 twice for two copies in Good+ 2.5 in 2023. One VG- 3.5 copy sold for $10,200 in 2022 and a VG 4.0 sold for $18,600 in 2021:

This book is in great demand and prices seem to be on the rise so I think the asking price is pretty fair given the current market for this book but I will listen to reasonable offers if it does not sell at that price.
