MikeChops
Hi all, I recently got back into collecting and decided to purchase a book I've been eyeing up (Watchmen #1). The book is of normal thickness, but the slab seems thicker and more "hollow" than my others. I'm not questioning the legitimacy of the book, as there's scans on the CGC database and everything matches. Does CGC sometimes use thicker holders with thinner books? Or is this an anomaly? Thanks! Administrator NickiO CS Posted February 11 Administrator Share Posted February 11 Hello @MikeChops Thank you for reaching out. The encapsulation team will choose the best size holder to safely encapsulate the book based on the type, condition and size of the book submitted. in some cases, a wedge may be used to stabilize a book making the inner well appear a little different. It is also important to note that the size of the holder has changed over the years and our current holder are thicker than they were in years past. if you have any other questions, please let us know.
