It's probably pretty unusual to find official prints released of interior comic art. Why not get the graphic novel? I haven't purchased it yet, so I can't give an opinion on the book as a whole. But I want to read it. It's on my radar. Ross' art in general on the book looks wonderful. I want to purchase the book in the near future. Nice. Without the usual painted style it's more energetic and engaging. Reminds me a little of Ordway or Ryan's take. Dave2739
Alex Ross made his own 1/6 action figures of the FF to use as photo and lighting references for the FF graphic novel. I think that's pretty neat. grendelbo, Ken Aldred, B2D327 and 1 other 2

the blob
Kirby is Kirby because he helped create these characters, not because he was the most skilled, although for certain stuff his style was perfect. Going by folks in the 60s Neal Adams and even Nick Cardy were probably "better" by today's standards. Ross does not have the universe of creations under his belt. Mgc015
I bet even the extremely talented Alex Ross would say that Kirby is the king. Kirby is the inspiration for so many of Ross’s work. Dave2739 and The humble Watcher lurking

Jesse-Lee
Bit of an aside, but this was from Ross's Facebook page, and I thought it was kind of cool: royaluglydudes, Ken Aldred, Rip and 1 other 3
Rip
Despite Kirby's sometimes laughable style especially in later years when he worked long past his ability to draw, he happened at a pivotal time in comics and helped create so many things which will always put him near the top. Not to mention the overall nostalgia. Ross though is a vastly more talented illustrator/painter. For illustrator talent I don't think I would put Kirby in my top 50.
