California - South Bay (Near San Jose)

Heroes Comics

24 E Campbell Ave, Campbell, CA 95008

Old school store with tons of Gold/Silver/Bronze raw & graded books. My go-to comic store in the South bay. Good prices.

Heroes and Champions

574 E El Camino Real Sunnyvale, CA 94087

Great staff and selection of back issues (raw and graded Silver/Bronze). Good prices.

Bronze Age Batcave

20 S Santa Cruz Ave # 112, Los Gatos, CA 95030

Interesting store. If I had to describe it, it looks like if some collected for 40 years then stuck their entire collection in a shop. Their prices are very high, but they have pretty much everything you could want. Huge wall of raw books/magazines/esoteric items and 500-1000? slabs with many keys.

Updated/added and thanks!

Western Massachusetts Area ("Nothin but sheep")

If you haven’t been to His&Hers Comics in Greenfield, MA you are missing out. Tons of comics out here, also sheep and cows if you’re looking for some haha. I’ve been a regional dealer 10 years now and the amount of comics that pass through the WMass region is substantial.

I would like to add that Flying Colors will be moving, as their lease expires January 2025, but Joe still hopes everyone visits the current location on Treat Blvd.  Once he reveals the new location, I will try to post the update here.

Places visited in London--

Comics & Cakes

Notting Hill Comic Exchange

Gosh! Comics

Mega City Comics

Forbidden Planet (I think they had some comics in there somewhere, behind the Funko keychains and model kits.)

Updated/added and thanks.  Google didn't want to let me download the pics (only links).  A few of these would definitely be on my list if I was in London.

VERY highest recommendation from me. Tosche Station Echo Base, 5091 Westfields Blvd, Centreville, VA 20120. Just an outstanding Northern Virginia store. What a comic store should be.

California (South Bay)

Comics Conspiracy (913 W El Camino Real, Sunnyvale, CA 94087): Large stock of weekly titles, back bins largely Copper/Modern, clean and neatly organized, really friendly staff.

California (Orange County)

McFlys Comics (17301 Beach Blvd UNIT 14, Huntington Beach, CA 92646): A bit of a unique store.  No new weekly titles.  Entire store is all back issue.  Half of the books are organized.  The other half are acquired collections loosely sorted pending proper insertion into the corresponding organized box.  The issue is that most of the books AREN'T priced.  Instead, price is 50% of what is listed in the most recent Price Guide laid out on a table in the middle of the room.  So while books aren't individually labeled, you can determine the price on your own by referencing the Guide.  I know that rubs some shoppers the wrong way, but the sheer number of boxes makes the store feel like perusing through boxes at small local conventions.  If you're looking to fill holes in runs, this is a great stop.

Its been awhile so updated/added and thanks!

For California I would recommend Spero's Heroes. About an hour from Los Angeles. No new books, just back issues. Gold, silver, bronze, and copper. Great selection at fair prices. Extremely friendly staff that loves to talk old comics.

Note* They are closed on Mondays Tuesday and Wednesdays.

I shopped today at Be-Bop Comics which has stores in Kansas City, MO and Overland Park, KS.  They had plenty of nice Silver Age at the KC store including a TOS #39 in 6.0. The KS store had a lot of great Golden Age and probably 30 Fiction House books including about a dozen Wings and a small number of Planet in addition to a few Baker covers.

Since Indy doesn’t have a store listed yet, I’ll offer up:

Comic Carnival

7235 North Keystone Ave, suite e

Indianapolis IN 46240

It’s north of downtown a few miles south of 465, in a strip mall on the east side of Keystone.

I’ve stopped by the store 3 or 4 times over the years when I’m in Indy.

They have close to 400 short boxes to look through between the organized shelves and boxes behind the counter. They have Silver to Modern (maybe some Gold behind the counter.) Stock is heavier towards modern but plenty of Bronze and Copper.

I have found pricing on the main floor boxes to be very fair. The staff is also very friendly and helpful. They have a few magazine boxes as well.
