Assuming a book is otherwise an 8.5, how much would spine wear like the attached impact the overall grade? Trying to decide if I should get it graded. marvelmaniac Posted April 23 Share Posted April 23 If the cover is made from cardstock it is normal to see that type of spine wear/damage because the cover is so hard, AFAIK, CGC considers this to be a Bindery Defect since the color breaks when the book is folded during production.
