How did Viking Logan get metal on his claws?

So I just found this and I'm reading up on it. The director said they're actually supposed to be bone and thus regenerative.

Ok, so scrap the James Howlett origin. Sorry, it will always be lame.

Keep his Canadian origins. But how'd he get there? Before living for years with the First Nations (where he was the Sasquatch - originally short, yes, but legends grow and tall tales become taller) he was a Viking and came to Newfoundland.

Before that where was he? The possibilities are tantalizing. Logan the Lion in ancient Greece. Logan the Jackal in dynastic Egypt. Logan the Cave Bear in prehistory.

Imagine him in the Hyborian Age....

There's some stories that could be told of the Immortal Wolverine.

hm

Eternal Wolverine.  Then we learn about his slightly less heroic  brother.
