There's a lot of staining on the back. I'm thinking about getting a dry clean and pressing before sending it in. Do you think this could improve the grade?

The blueish stains in the lower area on the back seem to be in the paper. No idea what that could have possibly caused that.  I guess this cannot be removed.

The missing ink near the bottom-left corner of the front cover is a tell-tale indication of moisture damage.  This tells me that the blue stains at the bottom edge of the back cover (as well as the black mildew stains) are also the result of contact with free moisture.  In fact, if you look carefully, you can see a clear tideline.  A non-restorative dry cleaning will not replace the missing ink or remove the tideline and stains.

This is a heavily worn copy -- probably no better than a CGC 4.0 at best.  From a strictly monetary point of view, having it certified would be a losing proposition (with or without a well-executed cleaning/pressing).  :foryou:
