Jungle Comics #77 - cgc apparent 9.0 cream/off-white pages - $350

Resto includes "small amount of color touch on cover". It must be very small as it completely got past me. Or my eyesight is going. Either way it is a very pretty comic book.

Just discovered Jesse Marsh via his Dell John Carter and it was a revelation when I immediately went back to read my early love and rockets issues.   Would love to be able to ask Xaime if he’s a Jesse Marsh fan, because it seems like it fits!

When I was younger I didn't really appreciate Jesse Marsh's work. As I have gotten older the lack of appreciation has only gotten stronger.

Haha the Tarzan stuff is not my favorite, but I love the John Carter stuff

I think Hal Foster is the definitive Tarzan artist, but every Roy Krenkel rendition of Tarzan that I have seen has knocked me out.

It is the final pre-lim for Tarzan and the Lost Empire, his first Ace paperback cover.

For more on Jamie and Jesse Marsh check our Comic Art #9, which has a longish piece on Marsh by Jaime Hernandez and Adrian Tomine. After reading it really opened my eyes to the quality of Marsh's work. Definetely an influence.
