  1. Hi crew, Picked up a lot from a collector and found several “heartbreakers,” including this phenomenal copy of Daredevil #45 that has a cleanly popped bottom staple. Wondering whether this just turns out to be a qualified grade or something else. Thanks!
  2. This is SO interesting, thanks! And now I am fascinated by one question, if this is a stamp placed by the OO: why is the placement of the stamp on mine so obviously deliberate and the placement of the stamp here so haphazard? EDIT - dead center top front cover is actually haphazard, so never mind!
  3. Hi @vaillant @Primetime @esquirecomics I asked a friend of mine here about this stamp and they said you all might know. Thanks so much for any info!
  4. The only reason I was thinking to hide the post is that the comic will soon be listed for sale. It's not a big deal and it is a great thread, thank you! I thought to hide it for the above reason, though. So completely up to you, especially if my lack of experience with having - let alone selling - books like this is making me overly cautious/paranoid/weird.
  5. Hi @CGC Mike - I was trying to find a way to delete this post, but couldn't find the hide or delete options. Is this a moderator only feature. If so, can I request this post be hidden/deleted? Thanks! NM found the hide! EDIT: No, I didn't. Doesn't seem like I can hide the whole thread. Is this something you can do if allowed? Thanks!
  6. my good friend @flying_bison doesn't use a scanner but does take stellar photos as well! I ask him how he does it and he says "I use my phone"
  7. My good friend @flying_bison calls this the poor man’s #5, and I love that
  8. I don't have #15, and am assuaging my FOMO by posting my favorite yellow cover, the one that started it all for me, my beloved copy of Fantastic Four #2 with it's supple pages and peachy interiors. I bought a lot of FF from this collector after this one, and have started calling them the SARGENT BOOKSTORE PEDIGREE in my house
  9. Namor with all that cake on the cover of #14. Every subby cover in early FF is so great. WHAT YOU STARING AT SUE?!
  10. Sure, but please don’t judge me if I drive by your house in a truck full of cigarettes after the sale.
  11. Can’t believe I didn’t react to this previously, bud! Thank you so much. I have to say that in a hobby like this that can easily foster FOMO and a bunch of other crappy feelings, the genuine excitement and generosity of spirit I see every time I share a win is probably my favorite part of collecting (right after getting back a 9.8 on a silver book lol). Truly grateful for all the camaraderie.
  12. That is a GREAT 5.0. And perfect evidence for what a completely BS grade 4.5 is
  13. Recent pickup! Had been looking for one for a while. Happy w it, obv, but also have come to the conclusion that if 7.5 might be favorite grade to collect, 4.5 might be my least favorite.
  14. Speaking of “alternative editions”, I don’t know if I’ve already shared my absolute favorite green label ever here.
  15. Haha, yes he was like that for a while and even in the new movies. I call him the hirsute hulk. And now I have to share my fave. You guys, look how French l’incroyable Hulk is. I really had to stop myself from buying this when it came up bc I was just floored at the genius of this slight change to a serge gainsbourg hairstyle as a way to totally change him
