But I do recall the painting being something of a record for a pulp cover painting sale back in 2008 at 42,000? *Disclaimer* I'm a big fan of test tube covers... and (but?) while I generally agree with Sarg and others about the rampant over-use of "classic cover" designations on covers that have probably never been consider classic except by their owners when they describe them for sale for gazillions of dollars, this is surely a classic cover imho at least. If the original came up for sale today, it would probably actually sell for gazillions of dollars Edited July 17 by Surfing Alien jimjum12, Cushing Fan, ThothAmon and 2 others 4
Administrator CGC Mike Posted July 17 Administrator Share Posted July 17 I just realized that there a lot of members who post in the pulp section do not have a custom title. One of these rainy days... Surfing Alien and jimjum12

Folks mistakenly assume the image of a nude woman makes it "classic". But in reality, it is because the cylinder is inspired by the famous 245SC tube from 1935... in anybody's book... classic. Darwination
It's more complex than your average SF scene or just "naked lady cover". You've got the doctor working the funky little screen on the "realistic" console plus an array of nurses or student type onlookers in the background with some sort of educational display in the back. The rainbow colors are what sets it off. All that aside, this is one where I go "classic" just because I thought it's always been viewed that way jimjum12
