The show was the first mid summer one in a few years so the crowd was mostly comic serious buyers/collectors which was nice. The regulars I know enjoyed being able to spend time digging through boxes without being bumped into or crowded our. If the organizer does another one next year it will grow.

@greggy did miss out on some fantastic deals that @Artboy99 and @thehumantorch found.

 always stirring the pot.  We did buy a Silver Surfer #1 and #4 at a good price but not fantastic.

The #1 was for a 40% discount to GPA.......but I know that is more than you typically want to pay............

Sure but the #4 was fully priced so likely a 25% total discount.

The #1 was obtained for $700 under gpa, the #4 only $100 under gpa. Overall still a great buy in my opinion.

a nice story from the show to share:

I have a neighbor I see relatively often when going in and out of my condo building when he is waiting at the entrance for his DATS pickup. He is in a wheelchair and often sees me loading/unloading comic boxes and in conversation with him learned he used to collect and read comics. He had to sell them several years ago which he regrets. I asked him a few months ago if he had a favorite book to which he replied "X-men: God Loves Man Kills" magazine. 

Due to recent complications he isn't working right now and is awaiting surgery, and I decided to see if I could find a copy at the Darkstar show. Mission accomplished!

I sent him an email when I got home from the show and told him I obtained a copy and that he can have it no charge.

He was very thankful. A moment when comics can bring a little joy.
