The first time I heard Last of the Mohicans it was playing at the Wilderness Lodge in Disney World.  I had never seen the movie but it was the soundtrack that sent me tot he film.

Hans Zimmer has really done some magical work since his days of Oingo Boingo

And this has become incredibly recognizable over the years.   As soon as the opening bars play, you cannot help but have that stuck in your head for the remainder of the evening.

Ennio Morricone is mostly associated with his work with the Spaghetti Westerns... 

However, this also immediately comes to mind...

Pretty much anything John Williams.  

Raiders of the Lost Ark is my favorite.   Everything has it's own "theme"; Indy, Marion, the Ark, the Idol, etc...

Hans Zimmer knows how to create a lasting soundtrack. Once I heard 'Time' I was hooked.
