PGM Famous Funnies 55 1939 1 1

I am thinking around 2.5/3.0 major defect is the tape on the spine. Overall books looks
in decent condition for age. Edge wear on mid right front cover and bottom right. 
Chipping at the top of back cover. I lack the experience to know how bad a downgrade
the tape will do for a book this old. Thoughts?

does the tape appear to be holding the wraps together, either in part or in whole?
does the tape appear to be attaching the wraps to the interior of the book?

Inside the front at top it does seems seperated for an inch or two. 
Rest looks attached. Staple did sink in on top staple, but both are still there.  
Back cover looks complete held on without tape. Best guess it got tear at top and they ran
tape down entire book for that reason.
