1st Barry Windsor Smith Art

This thing is like it came off the rack yesterday.  And features some of the wildest art I've seen in a while.  Barry Windsor Smith getting his legs under him with Blastaar.  

It's so weird how it's like the figures are all stiff (SO not BWS) I think because he's trying to do Kirby.  

Just completely different internal logic to Kirby and BWS, and I love seeing that play out.

Let's be fair here.  Just a fantastic cover, but what's going on with some of the ancillary figures on the bottom.  I think this cover puts me squarely in snowball ice man over ice cube ice man territory.  No one seems to be able to figure out how to draw him as ice.  Well, Neal Adams did, but you can feel in every panel how much he wants the top of his head to be round.
