...and so is his store here on LI. I think it was the oldest comic store on the island.

Isn't his daughter selling on eBay? What happened to his store, he just went out of business?

Drove by there a few weeks ago, store front was empty. It's possible he changed location since he has done that in the past, but I was too far away to see if there was a sign in the window.

Maybe he finally got too jealous of his brother's success...

 

I bought a half dozen books from him in 1999. He was a kick to talk to... fit the classic profile of "crotchety old [!@#%^&^]" comic dealer. Frank seemed very nice, and pretty knowledgeable, but I always got the sense he was ready to club somebody with a crowbar if they looked at him funny...
