Long Term Effect of Tape on DPS

Does anyone know the long term effect tape has on double page spreads? I recently acquired a number of DPS's, some with the nice archival white artist tape holding them together, and some with the nasty looking yellow masking tape. These are modern pieces, but was curious as to the long term effects this will eventually have.
