Your Absolute Grail - HG Good Enough or Must it be HCGC? *DELETED*

5 posts in this topic

absolute numbers are irrelevant here, so is era. but we're talking your single most revered GRAIL.

say for instance, it's in late BA:

if u have a 9.8 (one of three), but know there's 9.9 (one of one, none higher) and it comes to market - do u have to get it?

or say, it's an early modern (like 1982):

u have a 9.9 (one of one). a 10.0 (one of one, none higher - and it's a "rare book" so no other 10s wiill likely appear). do u get it?

or for SA:

u have a 9.6 (one of two). a 9.8 (one of one, none higher) comes to market. do u have to get it?

yes, u have to pay insane multiples - but remember, this is your grail.

HG-collectors aside, most collectors often do want the best - so when do u draw the line?

and of course, the copy u possess now IS liquid...

Personally...I'm not in the best of the best crowd. A nice HG copy suits me fine. I don't have a problem if someone has a better copy somewhere.
