Help me in identifying....

I am hoping someone here can help me.....In the 80s there was a b/w comic magazine. I do not remember the name of it, however I do remember that it was "adult". Not necessarily porn, just adult type material. There was a story about the evils of man and at the end of the story it was a two page spread of a gigantic battlefield. There were soldiers all wearing gas masks and helmets (almost Nazi-like). Some were manning giant guns, while others were in hand-to-hand combat. The scene went from the foreground down a hill to a great valley and at the center of the valley was a nuclear mushroom cloud. The picture had sci-fi elements, but...near future would be a little more accurate (i.e. no spaceships or lasers....) The story was almost like a narration of Mankind through history. The only other thing I remember is a line from the story "They will spend an eternity being dunked in a jacuzzi full of puke." (yeah, I know, really classy,eh?)

Anyway, the reason I am so interested is because I drew the two page spread in my art class in High School as a study in b/w illustration. That was in 1988 and I want to say the magazine (which I bought at a garage sale) was at least a couple of years old. I'm pretty sure it wasn't Epic or Heavy Metal. I was thinking it was a smaller press magazine. Almost a rip-off of the bigger mags.

I wish I could give more info, I really do. I have scoured the net for any clues (which brought me here...). If anyone could even give me some names of magazines that would have material like this, maybe that would jog my memory.

GASM was a HEAVY METAL rip off that featured some good artwork (Corben in one or two). That was in the later half of the Seventies. I only have a couple of issues, so I can't confirm that it's your mag...

 

The jacuzzi full of puke line is GREAT! When we find out what mag this is, it's at the top of my need-it list! Yeah!

Okay...here is what I've found out....the name of the story is "Coming of Age" and Alex Nino did the artwork. Here are the first 3 pages and I KNOW this is the story. The only thing I need to find out is what mag it was in. I haven't been able to find that out yet. Please, if someone has the magazine this is in.....I would absolutely love a scan of the battle scene I mentioned in my previous post. It is a two page b/w battle scene.
