Hulk #2 needs a grade

This book is structually a 8.5, but the smudging of the black inks is worse than it appears in the scans, and worse on the back cover than the front...

fc most noticeable around the logo and the word blurbs

bc mostly around center of cover

 

what do you guys think?

i can see the smudging! because you say it looks worse in hand I am going to go with 7.0-very nice! did you get a discount because it is a pence copy? I have seen some pretty big discounts on those lately!

i'm guessing 6.5 , but then again I'm harsh...is there any significant difference in the values of the pence vs cents versions? I've always been curious about that

I would give it a 7.0

 

As for the value of pence copy, I once made comparables and it was about 35% lower in value for pence vs cent.

 

I bit crazy since they were printed at the same time, and probably same place!

My experience is about 1/2 of the US copies but i've seen pence copies go for much more than that. It depends on the book and the grade...for example, low or mid grade colectors are probably willing to pay a greater % of guide than a hi grade collector, just to fill the hole in the run if it is a tough to find book.

Youd'd think pence would be worth more since it had to be shipped overseas... how many can be left and how many are high grade
