How safe is it to scan?

10 posts in this topic

My understanding is that exposure to light is a big no-no for comics. So, is scanning safe? Doesn't scanning subject the comic to a strong lightsource? I'm new to this subject, and not the most technically savvy person, so please forgive me if this is something that's been asked before. BTW, I did look for questions about this, but didn't see any. Thanks.

Welcome to the boards, show us what you have thumbsup2.gif

I have more questions about scanning. I tried scanning Witchblade #1at 200dpi. I get a very noticable texture, which I think is the printing process is becoming noticeable.

What is a good resolution to scan at?

Can the offset printing pattern be reduced another way?

Any tips for making a good scan would be greatly appreciated.

Attached is a section of the scan at 200dpi.

Thanks!
