strange case of the "missing" Rockwell and a comic strip artist's collection

Interesting little story about a small group of paintings owned by Don Trachte, who was apparently an artist on the Henry strip. Among the paintings he owned was a Saturday Evening Post cover acquired directly from Rockwell.

Trachte died last year, and a few weeks ago it was discovered by his sons that he had secretly made replicas of the Rockwell and his other favorite paintings for display purposes, and kept the originals hidden behind a fake wall in his studio.

Favorite part was how all the Experts (including the Rockwell museum) said it MUST be a Rockwell (the Fake), even though it appeared to NOT be the same painting....be careful out there in original art land!!
