A Little Early, But Anyone Going To Vegas?

46 posts in this topic

A lot depends on if you are driving, and will have acces to a car. With a car, i would say stay in the old downtown area. Ogden House and El Cortez have unbelievable rates,4 Queens and several other hotels have good rates. Freemont Street is wonderful, esp. at night. 2.1 million lightbulbs transform six city blocks into a light and music show that must be seen. Casinos are low limit and plentiful,as are the eats.Without a car it gets a little stickier as a cab from downtown to Bellegio is about $20 each way. Bus is an option but who takes buses. Harrahs, Casino Royale,Imperial Palace, Barbary Coast, Orleans are all quite nice and in easy walking distance.A short( $5) cab ride brings in The Wild Wild West, and several of the Station chain casinos.Circus Circus is about a $8 cab ride.WHATEVER you do, Do not tell the hotel you are in town for a convention. Convention rates are Sucker rates. This is a gambling town. Gamblers get good rates, convention people get hosed..

Donald went to Hawaii for vacation and didn't take us! DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! Any one else's excitement building for Vega$ ? Maybe we'll get to play cards with BH and GS and BJ this time! I think we should have a Mandalay sponsored poker game using rare and expensive comics as the pot, and winners can "cash out" to the house! Or keep em. Like on that baseball card episode of "Heart to Heart" Actually, I think they were having a card flipping contest, but you get the picture, eh? gossip.gif

*BUMP*

Ok, almost 2 months before what i can call a "major event" for me.

How do you organize your trip to Las Vegas ? Do you wait the last moment to book your room ? Is it early ? Do you have your entry pass for the convention ?

And the most important question: When someone will open a thread for the CGC's dinner ?! grin.gif

I'm really excited to be among you guys !

I tried to book my room about five minutes ago, but the site I was going to make the reservation through is down. mad.gif

I'll be taking care of the pre-registration next week, but I think you still have to pick up your pass at the door.

I'll be going with a friend and we're still trying to figure out what costumes to ware for the costume contest.

ROAD TRIP! 893applaud-thumb.gif

Vegas sounds like fun have not been there in 7 months and its a quick 3 hour jaunt up the 15 freeway its 3 1/2 hours for slow people.. cool.gif I would definately get all your rooms asap one its halloween so all the weirdos, including many on this board tongue.gif, will be in Vegas as normal and since it is a convention rooms might go quick. Trust me you do not want to stay out in Jean, NV and have to drive into Vegas 30 minute extra each day ugh. I never been to Vegas on Halloween might be a crazy time. So who is dressing up in Costume on Convention Halloween Friday????
