Killer copy with white pages, deep colors and great gloss. I am thinking of bringing this one to the con with me, what do you think a fair price would be? $400? $500?

 

One or two tiny spine ticks and a spine snag next to the "APR.".

Maybe a 9.4, but I think the couple of stress marks and slight abrasion in LLFC bring it down to a 9.2....

Gorgeous copy worthy of slabbing - looks like at least a 9.0 (the 3-4 tiny spine ticks might keep it from 9.2, but its got a shot).

Thanks for the info guys. The thing is, there is a 1/4 tear next to the APR, that's what I meant by a spine snag. You know how the paper kind of scruntches up when it gets caught on something and tears a little? Even with that you think 9.2?

I was just informed that it used to sit in an 8.5 holder. Looks like it could make a 9.0. $500 sounds about right for the show...

I try to keep close tabs on this issue as I have a CGC 9.4. A CGC 9.2 just sold recently for $1450 on Ebay. Last October a slabbed 9.4 copy sold for $3781 on ebay. I believe your copy looks like a 9.0 with an outside chance of 9.2. Either way, I would bring the copy to San Diego and have it slabbed there and keep the book. It's a great Bronze Age book to have, IMO. Congrats on owning the book. Have you had it for awhile?

It's not mine unfortunately. It's part of a lot of books I just got in on consignment for the Chicago Con. Anyone who is interested can stop by my table then and take a look.

Not a problem. Right now it's just going to be for sale at the Con, but if it doesn't sell there for what I want I might offer it to the forum for less, though not much less. I will have to check with the owner...
