More undercopies priced to move!

These are like mini-TPBs, with a couple of new stories ("new" in the 1970s, I mean!), plus lots of Golden Age / Silver Age reprints. As thick as they are, they take up extra storage space in my boxes, so it's time to move 'em out.

Conditions will range from VG- to FN/VF.

A single book is $4.05 US Priority Mail w/delivery confirmation. 2nd book can be shipped in the same envelope for no extra charge. Beginning with 3 books, I'll use a US Priority Mail cardboard box and can ship for $5.25. Add 50 cents per book after 3, up to a maximum of $8.10. International orders will ship in flat rate Global Priority envelopes unless you buy too many to fit in the envelope, in which case we'll figure it out on a case-by-case basis.

All clear? Great!

Catwoman and Robin appear in the 1970s story. Lots of Golden Age reprints in this issue, with art by Bob Kane, Ray Burnley, and the great Jerry Robinson.

In Fine condition due to some spine dings, 2/3" tear at the spine, and spine wear along bottom left hand corner. Take it for SOLD! plus shipping.

OOPS! Should be noted that the "Bat-Crossword Puzzle" in this issue has been filled in. foreheadslap.gifscrewy.gif

The contemporary story is a new Penguin story. They attempt to give him the Denny O'Neil Bronze Age makeover like they did with the Joker and Two-Face, but with less success. Talia appears in this story, by my count her 7th appearance anywhere. Better than average selection of reprints this time around, with stories featuring artwork by Gil Kane, Jerry Robinson, and Sprang.

In Fine Plus condition -- nothing majorly wrong, just bumps and creases at the bottom left and right hand corners. A nice book for SOLD!

Two Face returns in this issue, and this is also the little-known first appearance of the Arkham Asylum. Reprints by Bob Kane, Sprang, Jerry Robinson, and long-time Batman ghost artist Sheldon Moldoff.

In Very Good condition due primarly to that obvious staple impact hole (it may be considered a production defect, but it sure is ugly). There is also a crease along the spine, a small spine tear at the bottom left corner, and another crease at the bottom right hand corner. Take it off my hands for SOLD! .

Second of two teamups between the Batman and the Shadow. Reprints in this issue include several stories drawn by Sprang.

In Very Good condition due to creases on front and back covers. In addition, the left edge of the back cover has a very slight overhang and is beginning to wear. Yours for $4.00

The first of the 100-Pagers in the Unexpected title. Alfredo Alcala did one of the new stories in this issue. The reprints this issue seem to be drawn largely from 1950s post-Code sf and mystery books.

In Very Good - Fine condition: There is a 1/2" tear near the "D" in the Unexpected logo. Some wear top right hand corner. 1" spine split. $5.00

Great, great issue, unfortunately this copy has seen better days. The new stories this time around include a Batman by Archie Goodwin and Jim Aparo, and episode #2 of the Manhunter series by Goodwin and Walt Simonson. Reprints include both the Atom and Green Lantern by Gil Kane and Hawkman by Joe Kubert.

That's a Mike Kaluta cover, by the way.

I liked this issue so much I scanned a few pages in for my Bronze Age readers thread.

In Very Good Minus condition because of the ragged bottom edge and bottom right hand side. There are several wrinkles 1/3 way from the bottom of the book-- these wrinkles are due to impact or bending damage-- not moisture. A great reading value for $4.00 .

Another favorite: Steve Englehart's first -script for Batman, with episode 3 (the first part of the origin story) of the Simonson & Goodwin Manhunter series. Reprints include a Golden Age Hawkman by Kubert, a Silver Age Atom by Gil Kane, and Dr. Fate & Kid Eternity Golden Age short stories.

Read more about it!

In Fine Minus this issue has spine creases, and is split 1/4" at the bottom. Nice book at $7.00

The Batman & Robin with art by Howard Chaykin, -script by Archie Goodwin. Manhunter by Goodwin & Simonson. A couple of great Golden Age Batman & Robin reprints, as well as reprints of Jack Cole's Plastic Man and Alex Toth's Eclipso.

In Fine condition, just a couple of creases as noted on the front cover scan. Great comic for $8.00.

Jim Aparo does the cover and interior art on this one. That's Talia on the cover by the way. The selection of reprints isn't so great this time around, but there is an Alex Toth story from 1950, and a Golden Age Kid Eternity reprinted, so it's worth a look.

Comic is in Fine - Very Fine condition: there is a bump along the spine at the bottom left hand corner. Oh, yeah someone starting working the Bat-crossword in this issue too! Price: $12.00 plus shipping.

Part Two of the Bat-Murderer series, this one also with Jim Aparo cover and interior art. Mike Grell clocks in with a Robin solo story, and there is a Golden Age Dr. Mid-Nite reprint as well.

Book is in Fine condition, with a bottom right corner fold, a crease on the back cover, and what appears to be a very slight moisture ripple on the top edge. Yours for $8.00.

The only 100-pager of this title. Reprints several stories from Witching Hour #1, including art by Alex Toth. In Very Good condition: looks nicer, but the bottom 1" of the spine is deteriorated, and has taken a chip out of the lower left hand corner of the front cover. 3 inches of the back cover have pulled away from the square-bound spine. And a few nicks here and there along the edges. Price: $4.00

Features a new Wrightson splash page, and stories drawn by Alfredo Alcala, Alex Nino, E.R. Cruz and Frank Thorne. Reprints include a 1950s Kirby story, a 1950s Phantom Stranger, and a 1960s Spectre short-short.

In Very Good Minus due to significant creasing, the bottom 1" of the spine deteriorated, and some tears and creasing on the back cover. I never knew it was possible for a squarebound to have spine roll until I came across this puppy. Answers to the name of "Lucky." Adoption fee of $4.00
