Qualified Grade

Does CGC mark the book as Qualified or do you need to request it? I just got back an ASM #129, the book was real nice with the one exception, the original owner apparently decided to add an extra staple to the book near the spine. The book came back 3.5 and on the label there was a note about the extra staple. Is it possible to have the book regraded as Qualified or is that something they would have taken upon thereself in the grading process?

You cannot request a Qualified grade, but you can request that a Qualified book be re-graded and put into a Universal label. The grade, going from Q to U, would be much lower. We try and use the Q label as little as possible.
