The emphasis on the need to break into traditional retail outlets, and Marvel's approach to this, was good. Surely a display of HULK, X-Men, or Spidey GNs in a noticable spot in the book chains would prompt some impulse sales, especially now, at the height of comic movie hype. Have any of the US chains done this? I haven't seen any in Canada.

 

Anyone bought/read the CrossGen travellers? I like them - the art is clear, even in the shrunk size, and the books fit the hands nicely.

great article....in depth and thought provoking. Comics Journal gets un by many comics people but it really does a good job on pieces like this. Imagine CBG trying this kind of subject matter!?

A bookstore by me had a display of XMen graphic novels when the movie came out. They have a big selection from Marvel too, must be doing some business...
