A bit surprised at the final price. I had tried to broker the deal for that cover earlier this year and the seller was hoping for 30K. My buyer offered 25K and was turned down.

 

That's probably why it didn't reach the reserve.

This indicates that artwork prices fluctuate depending on who even knows it's available. Certain buyers might pay much more for this, especially since the image is uniquely British and there are lots of UK fans out there. But unless they're on line and aware of it the cover goes to somebody who likes it less a/o is buying with the intent of reselling
