Since I saw in the other thread you got it for VG guide, I'm going to say 5.0. Without spine tear looks to be at least a 7.0. Nice book.

The tear is less than 1/4". No way this book is a 5.0. 27_laughing.gif

That's a book that get's color touched a lot...

 

It's also one of those golden age books that looks like it has been color touched, but hasn't. I have noticed that on some covers from this era the ink is hard to break. Creases that normally would normally show white, don't. Not only does this give the look of a non-color break where there should be color break, but because the ink is now either raised or depressed it also appears to have a slightly different color. I first noticed it on an EC that I bought awhile back and I have seen many examples since then.

I know where I bought my copy, so I'm pretty sure mine has been color touched.

 

I bought it in 1991 at the San Diego Con from Geoffries comics.....(amateur restorer extraordinaire.

 

Maybe I'll get lucky when I pull it out, but I doubt it.
