Stephen Bissette's Swamp Thing art

I remember hearing a long time ago that a bunch of Bissette's art from his run on Swamp Thing had been stolen, including the wonderful cover painting from issue #34. Was any of it ever recovered?

I heard that same story about the #34 cover many years ago. Is that true?

I believe DC ran a message in their letters section mentioning the theft. I can't offhand recall whether it was stolen at DC or after it was being shipped back to the artists. Don't know the end result of this story....
