Terrible news about Dave passing away. He was such a great artist and person, and for NYers, he was always at the conventions and constantly gave it all for this hobby. Here are the only two Cockrum examples I have. I cherish them even more now.

Probably the best Nightcrawler splash by ANYONE.

 

What better tribute to Dave that posting some of his greatest pieces. Unfortunately I don't own any of his work, but I am a huge fan of his X-Men stuff.

not a splash page but it had Dr Doom, and someone told me 10 years ago to get Dave's art when ever you can, and this was the only one I ever got. I didn't have a lot of money back then.
