Hulk 181 CGC 7.0 vs Raw 7.0

3 posts in this topic

Just saw these auctions which ran almost concurrently...

Raw 7.0 Hulk 181 - $385

CGC 7.0 Hulk 181 - $399

I don't get it... the CGC "bump" doesn't even pay for the cost of slabbing; and the CGC book clearly looks like the better book (poor scans not withstanding...)

Even if you prefer unslabbed books why not buy the nicer CGC copy --that has had a restoration check and indep. grading-- for essentially the same $? You can always unslab if you really want to...

The raw book says it's wolverine's first app. in the title.

The raw seller will ship worldwide (though both the bidders were US, so not an issue I guess).

Two relatively low feedback bidders got into a bidding war. Query whether one or both were not real?

This results surprises me, less surprising is when I see it with low grade early SA keys where people look at a raw book in 2.0 and I guess they're hoping it might really be a 3.0 - 4.0.
