FS - Western Missouri Collection Books For The Week Of December 11, 2006

Superman #146, Superman's life story, hints at Earth II. Nice solid low grade copy. Presents better than it is. Because it has an almost 2" spine split on the lower portion I've dropped the grade to G+. Without that, likely VG/VG+. Does have a PAID stamp on the middle spine, but not noticeable from the front cover. $25.

Showcase #51

 

The scan only tells part of the story unfortunately. All and all, it looks ok for presentation purposes. You can see the defects. However, the centerfold has separated and the cover has also separated from the lower staple. Also some doodles on the back cover, although doesn't impact the grade at that level. G/G+, $8

Detective #359, intro/origin Batgirl, 1st SA app. Killer Moth, strong mid-grade copy, biggest defect is the spine surrounding the lower staple, nice cover color gloss, presents better than grade, F+, $40

JLA#5, Origin/1st app. Dr. Destiny, cover detached at lower staple, 1 3/4" upper spine split, 3/4" lower spine split, 4" cover crease lower right, interior rear cover sun shadowing, 1" rear lower cover tear, nice color covers though, presents better than grade, G, $36

JLA #6, Origin/1st app Dr. Amos Fortune, staples slightly rusting, 1/2" lower spine split, 1/4" upper spine split, slight sun shadowing interior covers, 1/4" x 1/2" left lower corner missing back cover, upper left back cover was bent over at one point 2 1/4" x 2 1/2" triangle area affected, deep cover colors, gloss retained, G+/VG-, $42

Tales to Astonish #93 (7/67), 1st full x-over for Silver Surfer, beautiful copy, solid deep colors and cover gloss, as usual slight tanning (sun shadow appearance) along exterior/interior edges, tight spine, some minor defects noticeable in scan, mistapled lower staple, VF-/VF, $55
