Can you send a check from Paypal?

So you just won a book off eBay, and the seller only accepts checks and money orders. You really wanted to use a credit card thru Paypal.

 

Does Paypal offer any kind of service where they'll send a check and charge your CC?

They do eChecks, not sure if you have to have a PP acct, I think you do. It works like a check where they (PP) hold it until the funds clear.

I think you're thinking of Bidpay? (But that was a money order, not a check.)

Can't you have them withdraw the amount and mail the check to the people for a fee? I thought that was an option to withdraw.. Maybe the check will be in your name though. ignore me

You can have them mail you a check instead of transferring the funds and there is not a charge for it. But I dont believe they will make a check out and mail it to anyone else.

Oh well. I determined that the seller does have a Paypal account, so I emailed them to see if they'd accept Paypal if I paid their fees.

the buyer can pay by E-check through paypal which usually takes about 4-5 days to clear. Paypal has made me pay that way for several big $$$ books i purchased. There is one big advantage for the seller- last time i paid that way it cost the seller only $5 to accept payment instead of the usual sky high fees! that's worth a lot when the purchase is around 3K or more! Fees have probably gone up a little but should still be reasonable.

You can send an echeck through paypal, but the receiver needs a paypal account. There are no fees associated according to their schedule below.

Looks like if they have a personal account, there are no fees, but if they have a premiere/business account, they're charged 2.9%.
