How hard is it to become a witness? Seems I'm in a highly populated witness area.

Right now, according to CGC, they are not accepting anymore witnesses until next year sometime. You need to have a dealer account or be linked to one to be considered for the position.

 

I have a dealer account. Anything I can do between now and then to increase my chances?

Well, considering events and signings need to be approved 2 weeks in advance, it's not as easy as just bumping into a musician or celeb. You need to plan ahead and get the events approved.....
