Panels That Become Covers Later On

It would not have been all that hard to use Foster's panel art for a cover given 1) how good he was and 2) how large his panels were.

 

Adam, do you know offhand if any of the Hogarth Sparkler covers were blown up panels or were they all original? I don't have any of the Hogarth reprints yet, so I don't know.

I believe those are original Hogarth's drawn for the comics -- that's based on the fact that they look like they were drawn as covers (high quality work too, IMHO) and I don't recall any panels that matched them. I won't speak too confidently as when I read the reprints I was not looking for matches to the covers.
