Ebay, non paying bidders and final value credits!

2 posts in this topic

I should have known, but this is the first time I've had to get a final value credit for a featured plus auction. Ebay wont refund the featured plus fee (almost $20) because it's part of the insertion fee. I chatted with someone on eBay's customer support and they explain that because a service was provided (featured plus), I should have to pay for it. But the deadbeat bidder never paid, so I'm out $20 and have to relist the auction and pay more fees...Like I said, I should have known, but I'll be sure to use more caution next time I think about using featured plus. Does anyone else see this as unfair business practices? confused.gif

not in regards to the featured auction option. That is ImO, part of the listing fee and thus should not be refunded to you. A service was provided and I see eye to eye with ebay on this. I feel bad that you got an NPB to stiff you, however, you did list the auciton, that featured option does put your item out right up there as the first thing seen in that category in the eyes of a lot more people, because not everyone combs thru myriad listings for a comic. Now, my thing is that you could always have offered the item to the 2nd high bidder for his price, right (either on- or offline)?
