does cgc take off numbers from census???

has anyone ever had any of there books that were the highest graded disappear off the census?i have a 9.8 signature series that was the only 9.8 on the census a year or so ago.then i saw a seller on ebay with the same book 9.8 not signed.i checked the census and there was one 9.8 regular,but my ss was not listed anymore.anybody heard of this happening? 893scratchchin-thumb.gif
