No announcement from the Hero Initiative yet. I don't think they've announced the Megacon schedule yet, so don't expect an announcement until just a few days before the con.

Thanks Kev. I wasn't sure.

You were sure but just couldnt admit it poke2.gif

Kevin Boyd,

The NY comic-con website states Stan Lee will be signing on the Friday. Where do we line up to get the ticket for this supreme guest of honor? Does he usually sign 2 items per ticket?

Is this outside of the Hero Initiative Signature Series in last week's Diamond Scoop e-newsletter or by donation to Hero? angel.gif

Feel free to call me Kevin or Kev... even Mr. Boyd if you want to get formal... "Boyd" makes me feel like we're playing hockey or baseball or something...

You'll have to check with the NYCC as to where special guest tickets are handed out. When you arrive they'll be able to point you to where you need to go.

The Stan Lee signing opportunity that was announced in Scoop last week (in conjunction with the Hero Initiative) is for a private signing with Stan that is taking place in Los Angeles on March 19th at his office. If you aren't one of the lucky 75 who gets a ticket at NY next week this is another option for people to get Stan Lee Signature Series books done. I'll be accepting books for that at the New York show at the CGC booth.

If you are one of the lucky 75 who gets a Stan ticket, come and see me at the CGC booth and we'll see what we can do about having a witness come over and watch the signing so the books will qualify for the prestigious Signature Series label.

there is nothing about a stan lee hero SS signing. Where did you read this information? The tickets are first come first serve 75 tickets. 75 tickets. He can get through that in no time.

Kris,

Last Friday Scoop ran the press release announcing the Stan Lee Signature Series signing opportunity that has been arranged for LA in March thru Paradise, and part of the cost goes to the Hero Initiative.

Arcana Studio Invades New York

This month the world of comics comes to New York as part of the Comic Con and this year their motto is bigger, better… and double the space. Arcana Studio is taking the bigger and better to heart as they are set to unveil a slew of con exclusives that would have any fanboy salivating; covering the whole spectrum of comics: a hardcover, 2 brand new series, a one shot, hard to find comics, and a limited print.

First up is The Art of ReBoot, which is the most comprehensive collection of art from the groundbreaking CGI animated series. This 104 page hardcover features conceptual design illustrations from UK legend, Brendan McCarthy (Judge Dredd, Shade the Changing Man, Solo). Also included are illustrations from Scott Lee (PITT Crew), Dean Ormstrom (Lucifer), and many others. In addition, the artbook features a 10 page section of new artwork from leading industry artists. A must-have for any ReBoot and animation fans!

As well, creators of the new Arcana series American Wasteland, RD Hall and Mark Kidwell, will be on hand to promote the release of their book as well as having a special sketch cover available for sale. American Wasteland chronicles the tale of trucker, Cletus McCoy, as he makes his way back home to save his Mama from a vampire apocalypse. Guns, guts, and a boy named Sumperson_without_enough_empathy are our hero's only hope!

Another book making its debut at the con will be Gearhead #1. Series creators Dennis Hopeless and Kevin Mellon will be at the Arcana booth. Gearhead is about Shelby Cooper on a mission to find her brother and find the destiny she never knew she had. Her journey takes her from the drag strip all the way to the White House. Like her father before her, she is Gearhead.

Additionally, Mark Poulton, Stephen Sistilli, and Dexter Weeks: the creative team behind the cult comic, Koni Waves, will be signing copies of their con exclusive one shot, Koni Waves: the Headdress of the Undead #1. Limited to only 200 copies, the Headdress of the Undead finds Koni battling an ancient Egyptian ruler and his army of zombies.

Furthermore, Dave Ryan, the man behind the most talked about independent comic book crossover ever will be in attendance with an exclusive War of the Independents print. War of the Independents is the most ambitious independent project ever. David and Arcana have put together the biggest collection of independent heroes in the history of comics. Witness Savage Dragon, Shi, Cry for Dawn, Madman and more join the greatest independent event ever. The series isn’t schedule for release until Summer 2008, but now you can enjoy a print featuring many of the characters set to take part in the crossover.

Finally, the Arcana Studio booth is the only place you will find the sold out first issue of Kade: Sun of Perdition #1 written by Sean O’Reilly and featuring artwork from rising talent, Stjepan (Wolverine Darkness) Sejic.

So if you’re at the New York Comic Con, stop by Arcana Studio (booth #759) for some of the coolest con exclusives and information on the hottest party of the con being hosted by Arcana Studio and Zenescope!

The 2007 New York Comic Con will be held February 23-25 in the main hall of the Jacob Javits Center.
