Signature Series Opportunities NEW YORK COMIC-CON February 23-25

68 posts in this topic

Coming to the show this weekend and interested in submitting some books for the prestigious Signature Series label?

MARK BROOKS SIGNING:

If you get a book signed by Mark Brooks at the Friday evening signing and want Signature Series done you must drop it off with the staff at the booth right away after Mark signs it. If you choose to walk away with the book it is ineligible as soon as the book leaves the vicinity of the Witness at the booth.

SUBMITTING:

CGC will be accepting Signature Series requests all weekend long at the CGC booth for other creators. If there is a particular creator or creators you want to have sign a comic book for you, you need to come by the CGC booth first and talk to the Signature Series coordinator (ME) who will discuss the process with you and your options for getting the comic book signed at the show. The earlier you come and see the CGC staff at the booth the sooner they will be able to assist with meeting your Signature Series needs. Not all creators and celebrities are guaranteed.

YOUR OPTIONS:

At shows CGC generally offers two options:

(a) you leave the book with CGC and then CGC will obtain the autograph(s) on your behalf and submit the comic book(s) for grading and encapsulation as soon as the autograph(s) is/are obtained. While the books are in the care CGC takes every possible step to ensure that your comics are protected to, at and from the signing(s).

or

(b) you make arrangements with CGC for a Witness to come and actually view you getting the comic book(s) signed, and then escorts you back to the CGC booth to submit the comic book(s) for grading and encapsulation.

With a show of this size (b) is not always available as an option.

Many creators (especially the guests of honor) and celebrities will have limited and/or ticketed signings, so not all guests are available for Signature Series. Creators or celebrities who charge autograph fees are an additional cost above the Signature Series cost. Check with the CGC staff about availability.

COSTS

Signature Series cost for modern (pre-1975 books valued at $200 or less) comics is $27. That includes the Witnessing fee, plus the cost of grading and encapsulation.

Additional autographs cost $5 per, unless the creators are sitting right next to one another, in which case there is no additional cost.

Since the book will be submitted at the event, there is no shipping fee to CGC, however return shipping fees are not included and are variable depending on the number of books and their value (insurance).

Murphy was never at his table. We don't think he came to the show.

Lots of books done. Lots of stories. Still stranded in NYC.

shy.gifLots of stories.

Yes Kev and when will we begin sharing some of these stories.

After many hours of de-icing we finally made it home this morning.

Many creators seemed to not be where they should be.

Many went MIA for the better part of most days.

Some seemed to only be there for an hour then gone.

Strange con!!!

p.s Kev will let you know how 300 is, not the same going to one of these advance things without ya hi.gif
