Wow, great book. Is there a 1/2" chip missing at the top of the spine on the back cover, or is that a trick of the dirt?

I don't see that one as a chip but it looks like a BC chip out about an inch above the LC at the spine. Also, is the BC edge at the top a water mark or just off color a little.

 

I'd go with 5.5.

LRBC - Sure looks like a chip or at least a tear, but it's not - just wear and dirt.

 

ULBC - Hard to differentiate bewteen a stain or a light water mark - pretty much what it looks like - I think this is the largest detractor to the grade. Although there is light tanning along the exterior REFC, the PQ is O/W to White.
