If you can find the series "Unknown Worlds of Science Fiction" black and white magazine from the early 1970s. Lot's of great art and stories like "War Toy" "Day of the Triffids" and "Slow Glass" good reading!

If your looking for monsters. Any pre-hero Tales To Suspense, Tales Of Astonish, Strange Tales, Journey Into Mystery, Amazing Adventure, Amazing Adult Fantasy, all have great stories that are sure to catch your interest. A lot of early work by some well know writers and artists. Being the lover of these kind of comics I just have to mention...

GOOGAM

GORGILLA

MONSTEROSO

GROOT

FIN FANG FOOM

all favorite stories of mine.

Well...that is kind of an open ended question seeing as they are many variables such as what era you are interested in. You have Planet Comics and Strange Worlds in GA or SA titles like "Adventure Comics" which had Legion of Super Heroes of which many encounters were "Space, Sci-Fi " oriented or "Mysteries of Unexplored Worlds" and "Space Adventures"....then you have BA books like "Star Wars", "Warlock", "Battlestar Galactica" and a slew of others...

The list could go on and on and on and on............ crazy.gif

Im done reading the ECs reprints and just finished the Alien Worlds line of books. Anything else anyone can recommend?

If you don't mind costumed super-heroes with your s-f, then by all means check out the Jim Shooter - Curt Swan era of Legion of Super-Heroes, Adventure Comics 346-370 or so. Reprinted in Legion Archives, volumes 5, 6, 7, and 8.

A great early 80s sf series is Atari Force (yeah, stupid title; some kind of licensing scheme to try to sell Atari games). Check out the first 10 issues or so cheap. Unfortunately no TBP (they ought to reprint it and change the title!)

Finally, for another costumed character (although an anti-hero) with a definitely adult slant, try Nexus from the 1980s-1990s by Mike Baron & Steve Rude.
