Marvel Zombie?

Has anyone heard of a Marvel series called Zombie?

 

I was flipping through an old book from 1974 and came across a letters page that listed Zombie #6. Yet Overstreet doesn't list a Zombie comic from Marvel.

 

Any ideas?

I would agree with aman on this. Tales of the Zombie was a magazine published from August 1973 until March 1975 and was one of the flagship titles of the Marvel Monster Shop (a part of marvel designed to capitalize on the growing trend in monster mags and comics). This would fit into the same time line that you mentioned in your post.

 

The original Marvel Zombie was created by Sub-Mariner creator Bill Everett. That story by Everett was then reprinted in Tales of the Zombie #1. The magazine only ran for 10 issues and then the Zombie had a very breief appearance in Bizarre Aventures #33.
