Some advance notice before we update the website... The CGC will be setting up at our show, and will be accepting submissions on site and most importantly will be doing CGC signature series at the show.

In addition to the CGC staff, there are currently (2) people here at Florida Supercon that are authorized witnesses for signature series... and i'm going to see if we can get more sworn in before the event.

Current autograph opportunities include:

Roy Thomas

(Got any silver age Marvel's to get signed... or how about a Conan #1)

Giordano

(Maybe some silver age DC's... Charlton's?)

Todd Nauck

(Any new Spider-Man issues from the last few months? Teen Titans maybe?)

Kevin Nowlan

Greg Horn

(She Hulk? Elektra? Ms Marvel anyone?)

Allen Bellman

(Crack open some of those Golden Age Timely books)

Ted Mckeever

(Have any of those Extremist #1platinum books? Some IDW Zombie books?)

Gonzalo Mayo

also.. we have a bunch of media guests that can lend a signature or 2 to some books

Kevin Conroy is Batman: The Animated Series and will be there with Producer Alan Burnett. Got any of those great Mike Parobeck issues from the 90's

John Wesley Shipp is The Flash.... so go out and get some of the DC Flash TV show comics

Marcia Wallace can take a crack at some of your Simpsons comics

and we'll have some of the Superheroes from Stan Lee's Who Wants to Be a Superhero.

FLORIDA SUPERCON ANNOUNCES ADDITION OF THE CGC

TO THE JUNE 22-24, 2007 EVENT

Fort Lauderdale , FL - FLORIDA SUPERCON would like to announce the addition of the CGC for the June 22 - June 24 show. The CGC (Comics Guaranty, LLC) will be on hand to accept comic book and comic magazine submissions for grading. As well, The CGC will be on hand to authenticate autographs as part of the CGC signature series. The CGC will be on hand all three days of the event.

CGC GRADING

Professional comic book grading eliminates concerns about grade misrepresentations by providing an expert assessment of condition and quality. Every comic book certified by CGC is graded by the hobby’s most experienced and trusted team, according to well-established grading standards. Furthermore, every CGC-certified comic book undergoes a thorough restoration check by leading professionals during the certification process. When restoration is detected, it is fully noted on the certification label. Once certified by CGC, a comic book is encapsulated in a state-of-the art, tamper-evident holder, providing superior protection and stability for long-term preservation.

CGC SIGNATURE SERIES

Every year, hundreds of thousands of comic books and graphic novels are taken by fans to comic book and popular culture conventions around the world. They also tote their books to comic book stores and varied public events with just one goal in mind — to have their comics signed by their favorite creators.

Getting comic books signed by creators has been a part of our hobby since early fandom. But signature authentication is a tricky venture. Photographs and videotapes are fine methods, but are not foolproof. Certificates of Authenticity (COA), although accepted in our hobby, are definitely not foolproof either.

There have always been concerns surrounding signature authentication and verification. Now there is a solution!

Collectors can have their comic books and comic magazines signed by their favorite creators in the presence of an exclusive CGC authorized witness. These comics can then be authenticated, graded and certified by CGC under the prestigious CGC Signature Series label.

The prestigious CGC Signature Series label (yellow) is applied to comic books that have been signed by someone of significance to the comic, under the direct observation of a CGC employee or select CGC authorized witness. The signatures are then authenticated by CGC with the labels indicating who signed the book, the date it was signed, and in some cases the location of where it was signed.

After the comic book or comic magazine is signed in the presence of a CGC employee or CGC authorized witness, the book is immediately submitted to CGC for grading and encapsulation in CGC's patented, tamper-evident holder, to become a treasured part of your collection. When buying and selling comic books, the prestigious CGC Signature Series is the hobby's only 100% Authenticated Signature!

In 1953 he became one of the lead artists on the 'Batman' with Sprang and Win Mortimer, which he drew for the next 14 years.

Born in Piuira, Peru, Gonzalo Mayo began his art career in the early 1960's working in his home country.
