Sorry about the pictures but I am trying to put together a good offer and these color-breaking creases have me stumped. I am thinking 3.5 since the rest of the book looks pretty good. Thanks for any advice!!

I think you're right, I'd guess about 3.5 for both. Colors looks nice but the sub creases break color & aren't too subtle.

 

Is that a heavy dust shadow on the purple cover one? It looks to have some horizontal creases as well. Maybe 3.0 on that one to be safe.
