Thanks for not bidding it up too high, Bonds. The wheel will turn and one will come your way.

Here is another recent aquisition for all you Baker fans out there. No inside art by him, but one of my fave "tramp"covers by the master of GGA.

You betcha! She has Baker written all over her! The curves, the face and expression, the hair, the way the clothes drape revealing her shapely ... blush.gif errr, sorry about that - but that is just so Matt Baker!

Hmmmm - instead of a pre-code horror collection why not a Baker Cover collection? 893frustrated.gif

I thought it would be fun to put together a list of the MM Mag copies I've upgraded since I bought my scanner last year. I actually do like many other comics - it's just that by some fluke the most interesting books I've been offered have been from the same title. I will pay extremely well for VF or better copies from the 5th/last year.

Don't feel bad, hkp. Sometime you will have a decent collection! insane.gifwink.gif

Seriously - Holy Mouse that is a sobering set of scans! It is great to see them all sitting side by side like that, too. Makes the impact they deserve to make! 893applaud-thumb.gif

hkp,

It's amazing that you have been able to put together so many copies in such nice condition. Those early issues are hard to come by even in lesser condition.

Here are the two missing issues. They go right before the last row. (I've only got about 20 issues, but by some twist of fate, have the two you are missing.)

ecfanman,

Thanks for posting the last two very rare books. Your copies look very,

very nice - the best I have ever seen! If a couple of on-going transactions

work out, I'll have 47 of the 48 first issues in VF or better (only missing

V1#1), but I still only have 4 (1,4,7,12) from the last year.

bonds:

Thanks for posting your WDCS in the other thread - I still haven't checked

these out but am curious to see them. It is hard to imagine that the print run

for those brand new issues is 10-15 times lower than the circulation for the

MM Mags in the 1930s.

Thought I'd post a scan of this oddity for any early Quality fans that might be out there:

feature_26A.jpg

This is a copy of the "half issue" of Feature #26 (it's listed in OS), 36 pages with a single color cover and a four-color interior. Strange item and I can't image why they would have produced it- maybe test marketing a cheaper product. My copy begins with Jane Arden and ends with Charlie Chan. If anyone knows of a copy of the other variant (which should contain the Clock story from the regular #26) drifting around, feel free to PM me.

Additionally strange, as the cover features everyone from the regular edition. I can't believe they thought anyone would pay a dime for half a comic with a black & white cover back then.
