Hi All. Been going back and forth with Josh and the tech end of things tonight, despite the countdown to NYE... Here is what the tech end of things is saying -- "[Google Password Checkup is] on by default in recent versions of Chrome. Google scans dark web password lists and compares it against what you're entering into a site. If it's known to be compromised, they will alert you. This is completely user specific and doesn't have to do with CLink itself" So, to be clear, we have checked on our end and we have found no evidence of passwords or other user info being compromised on the ComicLink end. The suggestion is that a user's password(s) could have been compromised on the user end in some other way. So, if this is a concern for you, we would suggest that you update/change your CLink password and any other passwords you might be concerned about. For ComicLink, this can be easily done in the ComicLink system via ComicTrack>My Account>User Settings.

Just noticed this thread and I thought I would chime in in case you are still there or if anyone else is interested. I can only speak to Berlin, not Munich, as that's where I have spent time over the past few years. There are two spots that I have been to -- Modern Graphics (they have two locations, one in Kreuzberg and the other south of Tiergarten on Tauentzienstraße), and then Black Dog Comics up on Rodenbergstraße north of the Schönhauser Allee U-Bahn/S-Bahn station. Modern Graphics is more of a new comic (US and European), graphic novel, toy, and t-shirt place. Black Dog actually has a small selection of vintage US comics as well as new comics. Black Dog definitely has more of an old-style comic shop feel. You might also check out the flea markets. There is a big one in Mauerpark on Sunday and there is another smaller one that I have been to at Tiergarten (Berliner Trödelmarkt). I have found US and European comics at both. Happy hunting

Second fake Peanuts daily on eBay this month. There was another one around about the 8th. I have managed to pick up a few "classic-era" (IMO) RPG pieces over the past few years: Judge's Guild tournament module Operation Ogre cover by Kevin Siembieda, founder of Palladium Books. Jeff Dee Space Opera RPG Space Mountain Man Illustration I met Jeff Dee and David LaForce (Diesel) at a show some years ago and talked to them about the absence of classic TSR art on the market. They both confirmed the often told tale that the vast majority of the art was trashed when the company restructured (1983?) and the remaining art was trashed when Wizards of the Coast took over. I have also heard stories about pieces being recovered from dumpsters by artists. Always on the lookout for this material.

Wow. Awesome piece (original I assume). I have been on the hunt for an Otus for some time. This is a very strong and memorable example.

The scan looks identical on both websites. When buying from HA or CLink I think they always had the pieces in their hands, so they're able to check and investige the pieces if necessary. If most of the pieces are still at the consignors, then PedigreeComics can do little to evaluate the pieces before the auction is over. I've always thought that the good thing about HA or CLink was that their art experts provided some security if there's something odd about a piece. If you're sure Ron Lim didn't draw anything on this piece, then to me there's a serious error in the listing on Pedigreecomics - it directly states that Ron Lim is the primary artist of this particular piece. On a side note over the years I've bought a few books from Doug, never had any trouble and I didn't pay more than usual compared to GPA prices - and Doug was very helpful. Did I miss in the description where it says it's ink over blue line? I'd expect a reputable auction house to specifically call that out..... it was in the description on Comic Link when it went for $1200 (which was why it went for that). since then the price tripled & that got left off subsequent descriptions Well it sold for $5,150. If CLink was wrong about it being inks only, then both buyers got a steal. If, however, the CLink description was accurate..... Just thought I would chime in here... I worked with the consignor of this piece when he sold it through ComicLink in 2015. From the outset he was very clear that this piece was Florea's published ink art over a blueline of Lim's pencils. I even have an email exchange with him where he mentions that "Lim would not sell the pencils"... so, I am highly confident that our 2015 listing was in fact correct. I would expect that the nature of this piece simply was not communicated to Pedigree by their consignor. I can't imagine that they would intentionally leave out this sort of info. Maybe they never even had the piece in their possession. Seems like they probably did not have possession of many of the items in the auction. Well, if you are a customer, feel free to give me a call, introduce yourself, and share your experiences with ivory-hunter with me in private. I would be happy to do the same. The "opinion" I was stating goes beyond a personal opinion BTW. It is a professional opinion, which I think is different. I very rarely make the sort of post that I made about ivory-hunter. In fact, I would think that it is probably unique in my ~11 years on the CGC boards. I usually keep my head down and stay out of these sort of discussions because A) I am busy with ComicLink and B) I generally feel that making statements as a representative of a company (as opposed to a rando individual with no public face) requires a ton of discretion and discipline. I chose to post in this case because I felt it was a service to the community to make sure that they were aware of someone who has been taking advantage of others in the hobby for some time now (I first heard about issues with him in 2013). Again, this goes well beyond "opinion". This is factual and based on actual experience that I and others have had with this individual.

Just to be clear, I never got into the authenticity of the piece that was linked to here. What I actually said was "I would strongly recommend staying away from anything this guy is selling, Frazetta or otherwise.". This is based both on personal experience with ivory-hunter and with reported experiences that other identified people have had with him. I can not speak to the experiences or knowledge of warhorse as I have no idea he/she is. Also, my opinion of eBay and eBay sellers never came up. I am a known entity in this hobby/industry, with a professional reputation and track record to consider. Based on that, folks are free to take my opinion of ivory-hunter or anything else as they see fit.

I just wanted to bump the mention of this guy ("ivory-hunter" on eBay) for visibility. ivory-hunter is a known seller of fake Frazettas. He has come up in discussions before on Comic Art-L. I would strongly recommend staying away from anything this guy is selling, Frazetta or otherwise.
