shiverbones
and this beauty from 1936! Really cool interiors. A lot more Racist sterotypes than I expected, but some wonderful art as well. They make a big deal inside about the "Brand New form of storytelling", a complete 7 page comic story! It's an attractive western piece.
BangZoom
I can imagine what the "the wonderful, wild pin-up calendar" looks like. Is it a Basil Wolverton, Lena the Hyena type girl?
shiverbones
It's a series of 12 mini calanders with a grotesque picture for each, like Ghoul, witch, etc. If the book is supple enough I'll try to scan it later.

adamstrange
Happy, happy day!!!! Thanks eternally to 143ksk for selling back to me this comic I had sold him a couple years ago. If I Knew how hard it would have been to replace when I let it go, I never would have done so. Here is my long winded explanation about the cover I copied over from my flickr page, which is similar to what I wrote when I first sold the book... "A historic cover that has flown under the radar for over 50 years. At first glance I thought this was just a fun cover with a bad pun involving severed hands, Reading it over a couple times, I noticed that "Merywin" is a "humorous" racially stereotyped attempt at "Marilyn" and then I put it together, and that is Marilyn Monroe & Joe DiMaggio on the cover of this comic! This came out only a few months after they were married. " Thanks Steve! A nifty Mad imitator! (thumbs u

rjpb
Great books Shiv! - you're making me want to pick up off-brand Mad imitators (the ones with a "horror" theme at least). The only one I have is in your sig. (sorry NFS) - is it just me or does the cover to Madhouse #4 look like something Kaz would do?
