For the first time, I am going to be a deadbeat and I don't care !

104 posts in this topic

So, i am expected (893Rant-Smilie-thumb.gif) to belive that NONE of you clowns ever decided that you were going to buy a book from say...Metropolis, HG Comics, ComicLink, or maybe even a private sale...then decided that due to something, that you didn't want the book ??!!!! - of course you have....and yet, you all live sainly lives and would NEVER do this !!!

But this isn't what you did. You BOUGHT the book and then refused to pay for it. I have NEVER decided to NOT pay for something I've bought. You bought an item, decided that you didn't want it AFTER you bought it and refused to pay the seller. You're a deadbeat. That's the bottom line here.

Congratulations! Mom and Dad must be very proud of you 893applaud-thumb.gif

As much as I can't stand the BS that goes on between you and gman, I can see why he thinks you're a [!@#%^&^].

That is still a gorgeous book and I'm sure with a little perseverance, one could EASILY fix that Qualified flaw wink.gif

But that's NOT honest like these great, honest people on the forums who would never do ANYTHING that was immoral, illegal or even in the "grey area" !! Right ??!!

I wasn't advocating that one resell the book after they "fixed" the flaw. Note the wink.gif smiley. I also can't speak for the rest of the forum, but I try to stay away from "grey" areas smile.gif Already too much confusion, better to walk as straight a line as possible....

I think the thing that 893censored-thumb.gif me off the most is that everyone here is acting like I killed somone ...or i am some kind of incubus who sucks the life out of auctions that take food money out of poor orphans mouths !! - My honesty or integrity is being attacked....I admitted to the seller right away that I was wrong, that I didn't want the book and that I was willing to pay reinbursement for the fees and to relist it ! - Yet I am seen as being dishonest ??! - You people can't see the forset through the trees. And people that have dealt with me on here and on ebay know that I am not out to get someone....

Mike - most of the guys on here do sell books, on eBay and have at least once gotten that classic "renege" message, some more than others, and that would set a predisposed degree of apathy for the buyer, although his story/emergency may be true. You compromised your integrity admittedly by deciding after you bought the item that you wouldn't conclude with the sale. Then you proceeded to open the story up for discussion on here where you knew that forumites abuse those who conduct themselves in this manner. I know you were willing to work it out and that's great, but you asked why the seller would put forth an intial reaction such as he did and we are just sharing with you some honest opinions (which you asked for).

I don't know what I would expect you to beleive of other forumites, but personally, I'm one of your "clowns". I've never stiffed Metro or Bob Storms in our deals. I have yet to work with Josh. My private sales/buys go smoothly - most forum members can attest to that. Even my loss incurring sales, like my recent MArketplace "auction", were fulfilled to the buyers' satisfactions. but this is all just my humble opinion.

You can kiss my ! You screwed up and then decided to whine on this Forum in an attempt for some sympathy. You're the one over-reacting here. You want to screw a seller for your mistake and think it's OK? Says everything you want to know about your integrity right there. Why don't you stop acting like a spoiled brat and take responsibility for your actions?

Speak for yourself buddy. Why does it shock you that people here have morals that you apparently lack? I'm not surprised though....you're just another deadbeat. Enjoy the crowd you're associated with now.....

And as a side note, I recieved a very nice email from the seller and we have come to a mutual benifical agreement.

So everything's OK now after initially blasting the seller because you finally got your way? Incredible......

It's not about getting my way you military wanna-be. It's about the fact that I did email the seller and own up to the fact that "Gee I made a mistake and could I possibly fix it ?" - But then again, you with a Holier than thou attitute and thinking that your the Moral judge for this board and all things comics !!! I don't need some 893censored-thumb.gif telling me that I am being "dishonest or lacking morals or whatever your Highness thinks that I am being. I NEVER hid the fact that I was wrong, and that I goofed. But of course I have so pencil pusher in an ugly uniform telling me that I must be a hoodlum.... 893censored-thumb.gif off !!!

And don't worry Fly boy, you NEVER have to do business with me....

Oh cr@p...for a moment I thought you were going to use my NM- auction... Whew!!

Or am I just as bad for not pointing out the upper right corner (even though the scan shows it) that makes it a nm-??

Is it me, or is anyone else turned on by that Wonder Woman cover....

Your listing is fine. I don't expect a seller to tell me the defects if they grade accurately. If there was a back cover or interior defect, they should probably mention it if not shown in a scan.

But the Listing I was referring to says NM!!!! Yet the description says NM-. If it wasn't in the NM range, I probably couldn't give a rats arse, but most of know, CGC'd or not, a true NM book will sell for about double what a NM- will for.

I would just like to point out here that CGCFan (Mike) made an honest mistake. While the scan clearly showed that the book was a Green Qual book, the auction title did not. Mike sensing a good deal hit the BIN a bit early which was further complicated by computer trouble. He IMMEDIATELY offered to reimburse the listing and final value fees and apologized for his mistake.

Let me publicly address Mike's flawless character - I bought a book from Mike on ebay and later met Mike at Wizard World East. Mike is a fair and honarable person who is not out to hurt anyone - he made an honest mistake, wants to make things right but doesn't want to be out $250.

Some people have compared his actions to "thrill bidding" but this isn't the case - Mike hit the BIN. In his attempt to get a great deal on a tough SA Flash book (Mike is into the Flash - one of the books that was donated for the forum philanthropy was has Flash 350) things didn't work out as he had hoped. Rather than totally screw the seller, he is offering the appropriate ebay fees.

Mike's a good guy who made an honest mistake and mistakes do happen.

I only list the grade on 90% of my books I sell and list some major interior defects water damage chunk missing deteched from staple etc. People keep telling me I do not grade appropriately and that my grading is off on many of my books yet they keep coming back and buying more confused.gif... they keep saying they are something called undergraded...whatever that is..... smirk.gif
