selegue
That Norge Benson just reads so much like an underground, it's uncanny! This by Basil is more reminiscent to the idea I have of what an underground looks like. You're right, because Crumb unabashedly swiped Wolverton's style in many of his early stories. "Rough Tough Creampuff", for example, is Wolvertonesque right down to the rhyming couplets. Bo Bo Belinski (early Crumb character), name and all, could be straight out of a Wolverton strip. I don't mean to run down Crumb. He never tried to hide his influences. He went beyond Wolverton in his own directions, and his draftmanship on the biographies of blues artists, for example, is astonishing. Don Martin owed a debt to Wolverton too. Fester Bestertester? I know nothing about UG comics! Before the story, I put up the splash page to the Daredevil story in that issue (# 16). This follows the death of Meatball in the previous story. I found the imagery to be very effective. Biro could do it all. Wolverine prototype!!! Jack

Scrooge
A girl named Pretty on a planet called Peace....... Glad you liked it Bill. In a different vein, here's a more straight strip even though it's sometimes amazing what one would do for love of boar and country! Oh, and Churchill makes an appearance in this London story. Interesting material -
burntboy
I think it's interesting that in each of issues # 13, 16 & 19, that Roy - the Super Boy is featured more prominently on the covers than the Wizard...........

MrBedrock
I think I might have benefitted by the fact that everyone seems to still be on vacation. Either that or someone slipped me some comic book steroids. My head is starting to look bigger. Something about that cover exerpt screamed "DELL". BangZoom
Something about that cover exerpt screamed "DELL". That helped narrow the search down for you, but you still had to figure out which specific Dell it was. That was quite an accomplishment.
